ABOUT OH BOY DESTROY

I started this site because I felt like there wasn't one place to go to get consistent reviews on the kinds of music I like, so I thought other people might have the same dilemma. Sure there's lots of music reviews sites but most are either focused on one particular niche and therefore biased against or just plain don't review anything else. Or they use so many different writers, which churn all the time, that the quality of the reviews are inconsistent based totally on which writers happen to be there at the time. So here it is. A music site written by one person encompassing all the different kinds of music I like. Anything from punk to emo to hardcore to death metal. Basically anything that's played with real emotion by real humans using real instruments. Sorry to anyone that likes rap...

Another big difference is what is reviewed. I'm only going to review albums I own so you won't find a bunch of bad high school bands on here. Granted this limits the amount of reviews but if you saw my CD collection you'd know this could be a lifetime project!

If some of these reviews look a little familiar, that's because some of them first appeared on MetalReview.com which is a killer metal website I used to write reviews for. If you like metal you should really check it out. There's a ton more reviews than here! In any event, in some cases the reviews were tweaked slightly but don't get your panties in a bunch thinking I stole the reviews. I wrote them all (a dubious honor to be sure...)

Lastly, if you're inspired to check out any of the albums reviewed on here I included links to Amazon and iTunes. If you're a budget minded music freak like myself buying cheaper used versions of albums on Amazon is essential! Some of this stuff is just plain hard to find (can anyone say Nuclear Assault "Survive"??) and in those cases all I can say is good luck because I'm not selling you my copy!
